My First Easter Card This Year

Time to pull out the brights and pastels for Spring and Easter cards! Yippee!

The card above is for the sketch challenge CPS104 at Card Positioning Systems. The background paper from Pebbles is perfect for the palette of Pink Passion, Green Galore and YoYo Yellow from Stampin' Up. The Happy Easter stamp is from Paper Angel. The bunny, flower and grass is from Clear Artistic Stamps.

I only have 40 more days to make Easter cards. Better get to work!

Crazy Quilt Block

I made this block for a block-of-the-month exchange on the yahoo group Quiltmakers International. I decided to use spring fabrics and do the embroidery by hand. I practiced some new stitches that I have never tried before. I also added a few bits of lace just for fun. Crazy blocks are a great way to use up scraps, but they take a lot of time!

Taste and See

I made this card for the sketch challenge at Our Daily Bread Designs. Here is the sketch:

I got out my chalk pastels and had fun with them. I haven't used them in a long time! Sometimes we get so caught up in the new products that we forget about the old ones. Now that spring is almost here, I might be using my pastels a lot more.

The stamp set is called Fruit of the Spirit. I like how it turned out being stamped with Stazon timber brown.

That's it for now. Happy Monday!

Win a Great T-Shirt!

After you are finished being blown away by this beautiful baby girl, look at the beautiful t-shirt that Etha is modeling. It features artwork by Belinda Landtroop that is also on the Moon Dreams stamp set. A shirt like this is being given away on the Cottage Studio blog to celebrate Mardi Gras. So......

Sock Hop!

Tonight is the annual Girl Scout Daddy/Daughter dance. The theme this year is "Sock Hop". I made these poodle skirts for the girls to wear, and then got some white t-shirts and white socks and sneakers to complete their outfits. It reminds me of the old Happy Days TV show!

I Love this color combo!

Old Olive and Baja Breeze from Stampin' Up! I think I mentioned before that I love those two colors together, but I don't mind repeating myself. I made the card above for the sketch challenge CPS103 at Card Positioning Systems.

I actually changed the sketch a little and moved the embellishment to the side. For some reason, I have a really hard time putting something smack in the middle of the design. I always want to move it to the left corner--maybe I was born on the side of a hill or something.

The cardstock is from Stampin' Up and Prism. The designer paper is from 7gypsies. Ink is from Stampin' Up. The gorgeous butterfly stamp is from Artful Inkables. And the chipboard sticker is from Chatterbox.

And now, as an added bonus, here is a card that my Erin made last night with a circle punch and some designer paper scraps:

Have a great weekend. Hopefully I will spend at least some of it at my sewing machine!

Very Delicately

Here's my card for this week's sketch challenge SC216 on Splitcoast Stampers. I'm not too sure about this one--it feels bottom-heavy to me.

The gorgeous paper in the background is from BasicGrey. I've had it a while and now finally had a good opportunity to use it. The cardstock is Prism--I love how you can choose to use the smooth side or the textured side. Stamps are from Clear Artistic Stamps, the Delicate Moments stamp set.

Have a good Thursday evening everyone.

I am So Blessed!

I sincerely appreciate all of the people that follow my blog to see what I've been up to. And I especially appreciate those who take the time to leave a comment for me. Sometimes that one little action can really make my day.

My buddy Etha awarded me with this tag on her blog, which I comment on frequently. I can't help it--her work is fantastic. If she hadn't already received this award, she would definitely get one from me. Other people who have already received this award but comment frequently on this blog are Gwen, Teresa, and Vicki.

Two people who I would like to pass this along to are Kirsten, who is so great about staying in touch with me here, and Lee, who gives me lots of support at Splitcoast and on our Yahoo groups. Thanks so much girls!

And Another Valentine

This is the card that I made for the sketch challenge CPS102 for Card Positioning Systems. The Bible verse stamp is from Cornish Heritage Farms and the heart stamp is from Stampin' Up. I took a foil heart (that I think is from Hallmark) and heat embossed using a background stamp from Stampabilities. My favorite part is the thin red and white lace at the bottom--a garage sale find!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Birds with Gold

I love stamping birds. They are so much fun to color. In this case, I painted the main image with Shimmerz and Blingz paints. Since I used gold in the frame around the bird, I decided to mat with a piece of mirror gold cardstock. All stamps are from Birds of a Feather. The layout is SC214 from Splitcoast Stampers.

We are supposed to have high winds, thunderstorms and such today, so if I am offline for a while, it's because we lost power. Hopefully that won't happen! I need to do some sewing for my girls.

Have a great Wednesday.

PS. Etha made a beauty of a card, AND some ATCs that she is giving away. Check it out on the Cottage Studio.

Hearts and Lace Valentine

I made a fun and feminine valentine card using the Hearts and Lace stamp set from Clear Artistic Stamps. I cut a piece of designer paper 5 1/2 by 12, and then folded it twice to make a trifold card of 5 1/2 by 4. I cut 3 panels of vellum and attached them with pink and white brads. Then I printed out the poem on white cardstock and stamped in pinks and orchid, matting on the same color of cardstock. The images are colored with chalk pastels. For the last line of the poem, I put it on a tag that can be tucked under the last vellum panel. Sort of a fun little thing to add at the end!

I think I know more than one girlie girl who would like to receive this on Valentine's Day!

CPS 101

Here is the card that I made for the sketch challenge CPS101 at Card Positioning Systems. The stamps are from Clear Artistic Stamps, and I used Shimmerz paints for the main image. Definitely fun to play with!

Have a great Friday.
