Alicia's Card

I made this card for my friend's bridal shower tomorrow. As you can see, I am still quite comfortable with my "asparagus and beet" color palette! The stamps are from Secrets of Butterflies at Clear Artistic Stamps.

Thanks Pam!

I received this card yesterday from Pamela Clark. Is this cuter than heck or what? She signed her name on a post-it note, presumably so I could resend the card to someone else. Puh! This baby is mine, all mine!

Inspired by a Salad--Huh?

First of all, if you are looking for a chance to win BLOG CANDY from Clear Artistic Stamps, hurry because you only have until midnight on Tuesday to enter. Go down to my previous post (July 17th) to enter.

If you read the title of this post, you will be able to guess where I got the inspiration for the color combination that I used on the card above. A salad! My husband and I went out to celebrate our anniversary last Saturday night. I ordered a salad made of grilled asparagus, red beets (pink actually), marscapone cheesse and toasted bread. It tasted great, and when I was finished I noticed that the colors left on my plate were really beautiful together. Boy, that chef knew what he/she was doing! I decided to make a card with the same colors, and of course I went to my new "go to" stamp set, which is Delicate Moments. So I guess this is my "asparagus and beet" card.

Some Links to Pretty Cards

Shadows of Memories is the name of the stamp set that I used to make this card. The poetry stamps in the set correspond perfectly with the images, which makes it easy to create an elegant card. Check out Linsey's card here. And Etha's cards here and here.

Now, if you want to see some amazingly gorgeous cards using Delicate Moments, look at Gwen's cards here, here and here.

I caught a photo of these flowers growing wild on the sand dunes in S.C. I'm not sure what they are, but they sure were pretty.

Chirstmas Cards Should Be EASY!

More sneakiness! Another sneak peak of the Christmas in July celebration at Clear Artistic Stamps, that is. The image that I used in the quick and easy card above is from the Joy of the Season set.

I don't know about you, but I send out quite a few cards at Christmas. So in order to get them all made and addressed in time, I like to stick to a very simple design. The card above uses just a few pieces of cardstock, a piece of patterned paper, a couple of ribbons and one stamped image colored in. It wouldn't take long at all to make a few dozen of these. (I do them assembly-line style.) And if you got tired of making the same card, just switch out the stamped image or use another color scheme.

And now, here is the "July" part of Christmas in July! Sunrise on Hilton Head Island, June 2008.

Delicate Moments-Asian Style

Ahhhh, now this is Serenity! The only problem with this card--I think I might have the gold and red background paper upside down. Unfortunately, I don't read Chinese so I'm not sure. Feel free to correct me in the comments if I indeed have done that.

The stamps are from the Delicate Moments stamp set from Clear Artistic stamps. I stamped the main image with Versamark and then embossed with gold powder. I just love how that looks on black cardstock! I edged the cardstock with a gold paint pen, which is very pretty and cheap at the hardware sto

Here's a daylily that bloomed a few days ago in my yard. Ain't she purty?

A Card for Quilters

Here's a card that I'm making for my sewing friends who have birthdays this month. There are several July birthdays in my quilting group! The buttons background stamp is from Artistic Outpost, the sewing machine is from River City Rubber Works and the little button stamps are from Clear Artistic Stamps. All cardstock and ink is from SU: rose red, pretty in pink, basic black and very vanilla.

If you know what kind of tree is in the photo above, please let me know! It bloomed last week and it's really beautiful. The blooms seem to attract little beetles, so I'm wondering if they pollinate the flowers.

Sneaky Peeky!

Sneaky little me! Clear Artistic Stamps is having a "Christmas in July" celebration by releasing Christmas stamps later this month. The snowman stamp and sentiment on this card are from the Moonlight Christmas with the Sparkles © stamp set. I had fun coloring him in with gelly roll pens and an Inkssentials opaque pen in white. I stamped with blue Memories pigment ink on bashful blue SU cardstock. I love how the bashful blue looks with the real red and whisper white.

For more sneak peeks using this set, check out Etha's blog here and here! And stay tuned to my blog for more sneaks and other fun things for Christmas in July.

Serenity NOW!

Does anyone out there watch the old Seinfeld series? Remember how George's father would scream "Serenity NOW! Serenity NOW!" When I get stressed out, one way that I love to relax is to stamp. And the two new additions to the Serenity Collection at Clear Artistic Stamps make it easy to unwind with my stamping.

I made this card using the Delicate Moments set.
I took one of the Jenni Bowlin mini papers and added some purple dragonfly stamps. And I used some of the word stamps in the bottom corner. I matted and assembled the card using a wide black ribbon underneath.

Voila! Serenity NOW!
