Welcome Spring

I made this scrapbook page to show off the Easter dresses of two lovely young ladies that I happen to know. The stamps at the bottom are from Clear Artistic Stamps. The girl is from Little Mary Cheeryberry and the flowers are from Hop into Spring. I stamped with black Stazon and colored with pencils. I used lots of pastel papers and I printed a poem from the internet with a children's handwriting font. This page is based on the March 08 layout that you can find on the Clear Artistic Stamps website. Belinda posts a new layout and color palette every month to spark your creativity.

Easter Recovery Time

Time for me to recover from a busy Easter weekend. We did lots of cooking, lots of eating and lots of egg hunts! Not much crafting though. I hope to get back into it this week. But first I need to start my spring cleaning. Good thing I have Daffodil to help me with the laundry.

Have a good Monday.

Tulip Basket

This is a paper-pieced quilt block that I made for the March Block of the Month. The pattern is free on Paper Panache, along with some other great patterns that I want to try. You can tell that I am anxious to see my flowers come up soon because I made this tulip nice and bright!

Be Brave

I made this card with a pretty double-sided paper (don't you just love those?), a bird stamp from the February kit from Scrapbook takeout, and a brown paint chip that I got at Lowes. I stamped with black Stazon because the paint chip was glossy. The little be brave sticker just seemed to match the stamp perfectly. I finished it off with some ribbon and fibers from my stash. Thanks for looking.

Top O' the Mornin' to Ye

Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all!

Please don't forget to go to the Clear Artistic Stamps website to check out the preorder special. Today is the last day to get the two sets Little Mary Cheeryberry and Tiny Button Baby for a discounted price of $10.95.

And today there is a one-day-only special in honor of the birthday of Belinda's daughter on St. Patricks' Day. (Isn't that cool?) For only $11.00 you can purchase the Country Life stamp set along with one of those great gift books. That stamp set is absolutely addicting and the gift books have a sturdy cover and 12 cardstock pages. It's a match made in heaven! This kind of deal will keep your Irish eyes a smilin'. Have a good day and stay away from those green foods and drinks (at least the ones that aren't supposed to be green)!

Amish Star Quilt Block

Here is the latest block for my blue and yellow sampler quilt. The pattern is called Amish Star and can be found at McCall's Quilting. The pretty yellow print fabric was sent to me by Pat in Vallejo, CA. She's a fabulous quilter and she sent me this fabric just because she knew I was doing a blue and yellow quilt! Isn't it great that she is encouraging a beginning quilter? I managed to put a blue flower right in the middle of the block. Completely BY ACCIDENT! There's no way I could have accomplished that intentionally!

I wanted to do an Amish pattern because we have a large Amish community here in Ohio and I absolutely LOVE to visit there. They have soooo many crafts shops to browse through. It's so much fun. And I haven't even mentioned the food! Oh, don't get me started.....

New Stamp Sets!

I have some good news about two new stamps sets that are being added to the collection at Clear Artistic Stamps. Belinda is offering a special preorder price of $10.95 (versus the regular price of $14.00). This special preorder price is available through next Monday, March 17.

I think you'll be inspired by these two sets as much as I am. And don't you just love a discount?

This is one of the new sets. It's called Little Mary Cheeryberry and it has sentiments that are just in time for Mother's Day creations. And then the images can be used way beyond that. Won't these be cute on cards or on altered art for Mom?

The other new set is called Tiny Button Baby. If you're like me, you are never without a friend who has a baby on the way. I'm always looking for a new way to make a baby card. And I think the button stamps in this set are very versatile.

Now, in my usual fashion, I've saved the best news for last! Belinda has a terrific special offer that is available on Monday, March 17 for one day only. This is in honor of her daughter's birthday, which is on St. Patrick's Day. The special offer is a gift book and the Country Life set for only $11.00. Now that's a great bargain! If you scroll down, you will see how I used these products together to make a recipe book called "Tried and True". So make sure to go to Clear Artistic Stamps on Monday to get in on this one day event.

Bright Red Springtime

I decided to go bold with this card. I love bright red and bright yellow together. The stamp is from the Country Life set from Clear Artistic Stamps. Sources are unknown for the sentiment sticker and the ladybug stick-on.

Hopefully I will have some tulips and daffodils coming up soon in these colors. The snow is melting fast and it's time for spring flowers!

A Good Weekend for Cardmaking

Indeed it was. What do you get when you combine a foot of snow on the ground, an unplowed road, and a Mommy who hasn't had a chance to do much cardmaking lately? Answer: lots of creations. I've definitely been in my groove the last few days!

I've had this card swimming around in my head ever since I got these cool green rub-ons in a kit from Scrapbook Takeout. I made a square card with SU elegant eggplant cardstock. Then cut a square from DCWV Photo Stack 2 paper. Then added rub-ons from Hambly Screen Prints. I stamped Hello (Cornish Heritage Farms) in ColorBox chalk pad lime pastel. I added a scrap of decorative paper to the inside to write on.

Have a good Monday everybody. Don't worry, Spring is coming!

Doesn't the calendar say "March"?

This view from my front porch says "January"! We're supposed to end up with almost a foot of snow by the time this is all over. They didn't even bother having school today. Now, how am I going to keep those kids occupied.....

Important notice:

On Wendi's blog there is a great opportunity for you to win some spectacular stamping prizes! Her nephew Jeremy is SHAVING HIS HEAD to raise awareness and funds for children's cancer research. Yikes--somebody knit that boy a cap! Anyway, if you donate to his fund Wendi will put your name in the drawing for the goodies. Be sure to check it out.

Tried and True Recipes

Do you know any awesome cooks? I sure do. Our church is full of them! Since we are so close to our church family, I decided to make a keepsake book containing the handwritten recipes of the ladies at church. I'm going to give it to someone who is getting married this summer (shhhh--it's a surprise!)

I embellished a gift book that I got from Clear Artistic Stamps using scrapbooking paper (source unknown), Stampin' Up cardstock and ink, and letters from American Crafts. I ended up mixing and matching stamps from four different stamps sets from Clear Artistic Stamps. The pages are all ready to glue in the recipe cards to save for a lifetime!

Good Monday Morning

We had a pretty quiet weekend here, with everyone recovering from illness. But I can feel Spring around the corner, so all hope is not lost!

Be sure to check out the Clear Artistic Stamps website this morning at 9am central. Belinda will announce a new guest designer and have another game to play.

Yesterday I made the next block of my blue and yellow block-of-the-month quilt. This pattern is called Wampum and can be found at Quilter's Cache. I have ten blocks done so far and I can see the quilt coming together when I lay them out on the table. Still not sure how I will arrange them all and what I will do for sashing and borders. Oh well, I still have time!
