Free Standing Pop Up Card

Hi Everybody!

I haven't posted in a week now--I've been really busy around the house doing painting and "fall cleaning". I probably won't get much crafting done this week either!

I posted on the In the Cottage Studio blog today, featuring this Free Standing Pop Up Card.

This is how the card looks when you take it out of the envelope:

But when you pull up on the top tab, the card folds out and is able to stand on it's own:

For details you can go to the Cottage Studio blog.

Have a good Monday! We are getting lots and lots of rain--finally!

Scrap page of The Bean

If you have ever been to Millennium Park in Chicago, you will know how mesmerizing it is to experience "The Bean". The real name of the sculpture is Cloud Gate, and the most amazing part of it is the interior. You can stand underneath and look up to see your reflection that appears to go all the way up to the sky. On the outside you can see the skyline of Chicago reflected beautifully. Definitely a must see!

Daddy-Daughter Dance

The pictures on this page are from last February when Gary took the girls to the Girl Scout Daddy-Daughter dance. I made poodle skirts for them to wear since the theme was Sock Hop. The page is based upon Splitcoast sketch SBSC202. I used pinks and reds to match the girls' skirts, and also because it was around Valentines Day.

Have a good Wednesday. I have sick kids, but they are getting better.

Happy Friends

This card is made with a free downloaded image called Nate and Av--available on the blog There's Magic in the Air. They also have a sketch challenge that you can enter using this image--and my card is based on that. I used lots of bright happy colors and the Friends are Forever stamp set from Clear Artistic Stamps to coordinate for a fun card.

Have a good Tuesday everybody.

I'm Praying for You

I made this simple card just because! I was looking at a package of Memory Box papers that I have stashed, and this green and red one really stood out to me. I thought it would go really well with one of the inspirational stamps that I got on sale at Hobby Lobby.

Have a good Labor Day. We are getting thunder, lightning and pouring rain. I guess it will be an indoor holiday for us!

Woodgrain Challenge

Samantha has given us a fun challenge on the In the Cottage Studio blog--woodgrain! I decided to use this little wooden doorhanger for a Christmas decoration. I stamped using A Sparkles Bright and Happy Holiday and pigment ink, then colored with oil-based ink pens.

Head over to the blog to see what the other designers did (hint--it's awesome!) and maybe participate yourself!

More Red and Black

Since I had the red and black papers and ink out from yesterday's page, I decided to continue on with the theme to make some cards. This card uses some great textured cardstock and shimmer paper to give lots of dimension to the layout. I used the Splitcoast Sketch challenge SC244, but I shifted the panel to the left. I just can't seem to put something like that smack in the middle for some reason.

Have a good Thursday evening everyone.

I'm Scrappin' Again

I haven't done very much scrapbooking lately, but I had the chance to get together with my friend Katy today and I managed to finish this page. I used the sketch from Splitcoast SBSC201 and the papers are from the Ballad of Mulan collection. I also used some newsprint that I picked up while I was in Chinatown--it always makes a fun addition to the Asian theme.

PS. Don't forget to leave a comment on my blog hop! (previous post) You could win a prize.

It's a Blog Hop!

Welcome to the first ever Blog Hop by Clear Artistic Stamps! We would like to celebrate the introduction of new members to the design team, not to mention the release of 10 new stamp sets. I made a card with one of the new sets--Just a Little Faith.

This is such a pretty inspirational stamp set that is so versatile. I made a stair step card using the Splitcoast Stampers tutorial you can find here. I had so much fun working with the plums and oranges, and I even did some watercoloring with dye ink to match the fish theme.

Now, onto the Blog Hop!

Here is a list of our blog hop stations, feel free to just hop on to the next person or start at the beginning at Belinda's blog. You have until Wednesday 09/09/09 to visit and leave a comment on each blog to be entered into our drawing. First prize will be the fun Limited Edition set Thoughts of an Egret and there will be runner up prizes as well!
Thanks for playing--have fun!
