On Vacation

I haven't posted in two weeks--we are on vacation! I should be home by Monday evening, so hopefully will be back into a normal schedule by the end of the week.

Anyway, we have had a great time--we spent one week at Myrtle Beach, SC and the next week at Kitty Hawk, NC. We spent lots of time on the beach, at the pool and playing mini golf. We also pigged out on seafood, that we don't get in Ohio!

But, time to go home and find out how many weeds are in the garden.....

The Next Cottage Rumble

The cottage rumble challenge is going on at the Clear Artistic Stamps blog. The challenge this time is to make a birthday card, including stamping inside the card. Here is my card:

And here is a view of the inside:

I used Splitcoast Sketch SC232, along with the Thoughts of Joy stamp set and Basic Grey papers. The flowers are plain Prima flowers painted with Shimmerz paints.

FYI: This will be my last "artsy" post for a while--I am going on vacation for a couple of weeks. If I'm able to, I will probably post photos of our trip while I'm gone.

Doesn't purple and gold remind you of a sunset on a warm summer evening? I just love it when the days are nice and long and the sunset comes way after 8pm.

The stamps on this card are from the Belinda's stamp set Echos of Summer. And the beautiful metallic cardstock is coming soon to the Clear Artistic Stamps store.

Here's to summer!

I'm in the Cottage Studio today!

I posted this card on the Cottage Studio blog today, and you can check it out to see how I was inspired. My dear friends are celebrating the wedding of their son next month, so I think I will save this for their wedding card.

Don't you love this image? Is it a bird? a fan? a flower? Talk about visual interest! It's from Belinda's new set Thoughts of Joy.

Have a good Monday everyone! We are getting rain, which my vegetable garden will love!

Riding the Rides

Some of the rides at WDW have really fun areas where you wait in line. It's especially true at the Toy Story Mania ride, where you are surrounded by all of the toys in the movie. I decided to make a bright green page showing the kids in some of the great waiting areas. A lot of the page elements are from a scrapbooking kit that I bought at the park.

BTW, today (June 4th) is "Hug Your Cat" day. So get to it!

I used some bright and wild papers to make this scrapbook page. The girls were enjoying a "decorate your own cupcake" dessert at EPCOT when I snapped their photos. Notice that they were too busy to look up at the camera! (very unusual for those two)
