More Teacups

I made another card (see previous post) using the Teacup Fairies stamp set and the BasicGrey paper. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from Clear Artistic Stamps I'm Just Saying. I've recently made three cards using the Teacup Fairies set, which means if I make two more, I will have a set of five to give as a gift. Sounds like a good project for the long weekend!

I don't think that I ever posted this card on my blog:

This is the first in the installments of my Teacup Fairies cards. Now you've seen all three! If you've never seen this card before, it must be that you aren't visiting In the Cottage Studio, which is Belinda's blog, where I also post my work. Check it out!

Pretty Papers

I really love the Sultry collection of papers from BasicGrey. Maybe because they have lots of pink? Pink, brown and green--yep, that's gotta be it! The Teacup Fairies stamp set from Clear Artistic Stamps coordinates perfectly with these papers. And guess what, it's on sale this week!

Don't forget to check out the great freebies that Belinda offers on her site.

Have a good Thursday.

Bask in Sunsets

I had fun putting some scraps of cardstock together to make this card. The stamps are from Prickley Pear and I stamped with the Palette Hybrid Ink pads in New Canvas and Burnt Sienna. Love that ink! It behaves like a combination of pigment ink and dye ink, and dries really fast.

Hope your weekend is going well. It's extremely hot here, so needless to say, I'm inside with the a/c cranked up! Have a good Sunday.

Well, Whoopity Doo!

OK, everybody--I want you to RUN, don't walk to your nearest stamping shop to purchase the September 2008 issue of Vamp Stamp News. I'm delighted to announce that three of us on the Clear Artistic Stamps design team had cards published in that issue using some of the beautiful stamps designed by Belinda Landtroop. Etha's card is on the back cover, and Gwen and I have cards in the center part of the magazine.

In fact, I'm so excited about all this, that I want to give away my extra copy to someone who leaves a comment on this post.

Here's how to play: Go to the Clear Artistic Stamps store and look for the list of new stamp sets being released in September. Come back here and leave a comment giving me the name of one of those sets. I will choose a winner on Monday August 25th at 1pm eastern time.

You'll win the Sept. 08 issue of Vamp Stamp News, and of course I'll throw in a few extras just for fun.

Thanks for playing!

Life's a Beach

Can you believe this? I'm actually making a scrapbook page within two months of taking the pictures! My photos usually sit around much longer than that.

I had fun with all kinds of embellishments on this page. The very cool pink turtle paper as well as the white lettering was purchased from the Current website. I knew they sold cards and stationary, but I recently learned that they sell papercrafting products too.

Pink and Purple Lily

I just love lilies and this image was so much fun to color. The stamp is from Starving Artistamps. I colored with pencils and blended with odorless mineral spirits.

Unfortunately, I made this to be a sympathy card. But hopefully it will lift some spirits.

I will send out the paper sack book and some other goodies this week. Thanks to all of you for participating!

Here's a pic of a wedding card that I made this weekend. I used stamps from Stampin' Up and lots of shimmery paint, ink and Stickles. On the inside I printed a Bible verse in blue ink.

Howdy Y'All!

We're just back from our vacation in the Smoky Mountains, where we had a great time. We visited the Smoky Mountain National Park and Dollywood, among other things in the area. It gave us a chance to really kick up our heels and have fun.

As for my creative work, well, I don't have anything to show you today. But, there is a new blog started up by Belinda Landtroop called In The Cottage Studio. I will be contributing to it along with others, so be sure to visit often. Right now, you can read a great tutorial on Quick and Easy Notecards by Gwen Snater.

P.S. On Thursday I will have a sneak peek for you!
